Jazz educator and saxophonist Ronald Carter is profiled. Topics include his early career, his first job at Lincoln Senior High School in East St. Louis and the successful jazz program he built there, his move to Northern Illinois, where he is director of Jazz Studies, his work with the International Association for Jazz Education, and his development of local youth projects. He has also co-written the textbook "Teaching Music Through Performance and Jazz," which is part of the "Teaching Music" series distributed by GIA Publications.
