Jazz violinist Matt Glaser is interviewed. Glaser discusses the presence of strings in jazz music - the difficulties
and the benefits of using stringed instruments. The foundations of harmony are some of the most important, and
most difficult, aspects of theory for jazz string players to master. Glaser serves as the head of the Berklee College
of Music's String Department, and he reflects on the history of the department, as well as his own pedagogical
style. Photographs are included.
