Ado Broodboom was the Dutch jazz trumpet player in the fifties and sixties, as a star soloist with the Ramblers and co-founder of Boy's Big Band. 'Trumpet? That was Ado Broodboom, "wrote Remco Campert. He made records with American greats such as flutist Herbie Mann and saxophonist Lucky Thompson, and he improvised the music for three performances of the play Omzien in grudge. He has now passed the ninety but still a crystal-clear race mechanic, full of strong anecdotes from musician life.
