The author provides a model for organizing a children's jazz choir for elementary school music programs. The
author found elementary age students were more enthusiastic and more likely to take part in a jazz choir than
older students. Tips are presented for locating age appropriate music. The author also discusses how she taught
students to play the accompanying rhythm to the jazz music they were performing.
