La recepción del jazz en Mallorca: 1964-1969

Over the decade of the 1960s Mallorca counted on a first-rate night-time leisure programme. Jazz emerged, in such a context, as a musical genre associated to European cosmopolitism. In this article we survey diverse jazz interpreters’ performances coming from the United States of America who, between 1964 and 1969, gathered on Palma’s stages as a sign of modernity.
